Museum of Broken Relationships

This quirky museum in Zagreb, Croatia is mostly dedicated to failed relationships–poignant, colorful, sad and some, hilarious. The museum is permanently located in a beautiful baroque Kulmer palace in the Upper Town of Zagreb, Croatia. Entrance fee is 30 Croatian kuna (about USD0.15) per person.

Conceptualized in Croatia by Olinka Vištica and Dražen Grubišić, the Museum of Broken Relationships grew from what was a traveling exhibition that revolved around remains of failed relationships. The Museum offers people trying to recover from their broken hearts a path to recovery by contributing to the museum’s collection artifacts (no matter how big or small) of that collapsed relationship. Read more about how in their website.

Once in Zagreb, it is a pleasant walk to and from the museum

When in Zagreb, have this museum on your itinerary. It is a nice break from all the other standard museums as this evolves around ‘recent’ personal histories.
