Taiwan Tales

From Taipei 101, you can get on the train and find your way to the Longshan Temple Station. You are now in Taipei City’s oldest district, Wanhua District. Near the train station is the Longshan Temple (shown above) Taipei’s oldest temple.  While the architecture remains in tact, some modern additions like the LED signage at the gate have been added.

From Longshan, you can get on the train and find your way to the Danshui (Red) Line. Get off at the Shilin Station. Look for Bus R30 (Red 30) that takes you to the National Palace Museum, Taiwan’s national museum. With a collection of over 600,000 artifacts, it is one of the largest in the world. Interestingly, The National Palace Museum and Forbidden City’s Palace Museum share the same roots which was split into two as a result of the Chinese Civil War.
